Caring for Printed Silk
Read the care label first, then plan cleaning, storage and travel for your specific silk piece.
By The Atelier · Updated

The care label for your piece takes priority over a general guide. A scarf, lined jacket and bridal dress can require different treatment even when each contains silk.
Before cleaning
Check the product page and label for washing or dry-cleaning instructions. If either is missing or unclear, contact the atelier before treating the fabric. Do not assume that a method suitable for one silk piece is suitable for another.
Storage and travel
Put a piece away clean and dry. Keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight, damp storage and sharp accessories. Pack it with enough space that heavy objects do not press directly on it, then unpack on arrival.
Stains and damage
Avoid trying several treatments in succession. Note what caused the mark, take photographs and ask for guidance. For a newly delivered piece with a fault, keep its packaging and include your order number when writing.
